Bid Manager - Hero|

Over the past few years, we have built our bid management from the ground up, and the results speak for themselves: with an above-average win rate and successful tenders at organisations including the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TU Delft, Stichting ICTU and Vitens, we have established ourselves as a trusted name among the Netherlands' largest clients.

We are now looking for an experienced Bid Manager to strengthen this winning team. Someone who knows the staffing and recruitment industry, understands how tendering works, and has the ambition to raise the bar even higher alongside us.

As Bid Manager at Hero, you are responsible for our submissions from start to finish. You ensure that every submission meets the Hero standard: winning quality, flawless execution and tailored content. For each tender, you assemble a team with the right expertise, keep the process on track and maintain a clear overview, even when multiple tenders are running simultaneously. You work closely with your fellow bid managers and collaborate with colleagues across the entire organisation, from account managers to the board of directors.

We almost always work with a dedicated writer per tender, but you are equally comfortable picking up the pen yourself when needed. You build and maintain a strong internal network and continually raise the quality of each submission by gathering the right knowledge at the right time.

Within the bid team, we apply Agile methodology for our internal collaboration: daily stand-ups, week kick-offs, sprint planning sessions, planning reviews and retrospectives. This ensures we work well together, continuously support one another and keep improving as a team. How exactly we shape this is something you determine together with your fellow bid managers.

You provide constructive feedback and are open to feedback on your own work. Victories are celebrated together, and after each tender you make sure lessons learned are captured from both internal and external evaluations. In this way, you and your colleagues build the best winning bid management team in the Netherlands.

Success in this position is reflected in won tenders, a strong and close-knit bid team, and a growing portfolio of framework agreements that further strengthens Hero's position in the market.

Responsible for the complete tendering process: from strategy to submission.

How you make an impact

• Managing the full tender process, including monitoring deadlines
• Identifying, qualifying and analysing opportunities
• Managing all stakeholders (internal and external) within tender processes
• Defining the win strategy and content collaboratively
• Safeguarding quality, consistency and win strategy
• Taking care of requests for information, supporting documents and other formalities
• Aligning the required pricing for a competitive submission
• Organising internal and external evaluations and embedding lessons learned
• Initiating and implementing process improvements

• Bachelor's or Master's level of thinking and working
• At least 3 years of experience as a Bid Manager, preferably in the staffing or flexible workforce industry
• Demonstrable experience with (European) tenders in professional services
• Excellent writing skills in Dutch; English is a plus
• Strong ability to analyse complex tender documentation and translate questions into underlying client needs
• A convincing communicator who builds support and engages effectively at all levels
• Organisationally strong: you successfully manage multiple tenders simultaneously
• Decisive: you take the lead on difficult decisions and communicate them clearly
• Resilient under pressure: you maintain overview and composure, even under tight deadlines
• Commercially aware and able to translate opportunities into winning propositions
• An interest in and affinity with the thinking of Patrick Lencioni (or the motivation to explore it)
