Diversity policy

How Hero works on an inclusive culture and labor market, with concrete objectives and the implementation thereof.

Hero is committed to an inclusive culture and labour market. For the success of the organisation, it is important that employees are professionally skilled, but also that they differ from one another; in perspective, culture, knowledge and experience. These differences contribute to achieving objectives and to developing innovative solutions for clients. By diversity, we mean: a balanced composition of the workforce, based on age, gender, cultural or social background, competencies, views and working styles.

Objectives

  • Promoting diversity in the composition of the candidate pool
  • At least 10% of the IT candidate base is female
  • At least 30% of the IT candidate base has a non-Western migration background
  • In 2026, ensuring the participation of <30 people with a distance to the labour market (25.5 hours p/w, approx. 15 FTE).

Implementation of diversity policy

When onboarding new employees, on the work floor, and during internal mobility, attention is given to diversity:

A. Deploying assessments

Assessments are used to evaluate diversity in addition to individual qualities. Through an assessment, Hero gains insight into the candidate's competencies and personal qualities, background and perspectives.

B. Offering opportunities to people with a distance to the labour market

Through our HR Business Partner, we primarily place IT professionals who have a form of autism or who are highly gifted, and who therefore face a greater distance to the labor market. Among other things, we work to create work experience placements and permanent positions with clients. Our HR Business Partner supports both the professional and the organization where we place them.
