This Hero Privacy Statement applies to all our activities and applies to both professionals and clients.
This Hero Privacy Statement applies to all our activities and to both professionals and clients. We respect the privacy of everyone who comes into contact with Hero. We ensure that any personal data you share with us is handled confidentially and processed only for the purpose for which it was provided – such as registration, job placement, sharing with clients (after your consent), or retention. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The purpose of all our processing activities is to mediate professionals to new assignments or clients. Without your data, we cannot provide these services.
Your Rights
Before we explain our data processing in more detail, we would like to remind you of your rights:
Right to erasure.
This means you have the right to be ‘forgotten’. You may withdraw your consent and you can make a request (via info@hero.eu) to have your data removed from our systems.
Right of access.
You have the right to view the personal data we process about you.
Right to rectification and supplementation.
You may correct or supplement your personal data at any time.
Right to restrict processing.
You may request that we process your data more limitedly.
Right to data portability
You may request to receive your data in a portable format.
Right not to be subject to automated decision-making.
You may request human involvement in decisions made about you.

Registration
What data do we process and why? If you want to register with us, we need certain information to evaluate and contact you. We collect the following data:
- Salutation
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Postal code & house number
- CV with work history and education
- Availability
- Whether you are seeking interim assignments, permanent roles, or both
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data for up to two years, so we can contact you about assignments or vacancies.
If you apply through our website, we may keep your data for seven years as required by law.

Who do we share your data with?
We only share your data with clients when proposing you for a role. We never share data without informing you in advance. (Read more under Placement.)
Other
If you provide more information than we request, we will also handle this data carefully. We assume that any voluntarily provided data may be processed. We may send newsletters up to four times per year. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Application
What data do we process and why?
When you apply for a vacancy, we process the following information:
- Salutation
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Postal code & house number
- CV with work history and education
- Motivation
How long do we keep your data?
We keep the data received in response to a job application for two years. After this period, we will request your permission to retain your data again, or your data will be anonymised. If you are not selected for the position you applied for, but we do see potential in your profile, we may ask for your permission to contact you about future vacancies. In this case as well, we will keep your data for two years, after which we will again request your permission or anonymise your data. If you undertake an interim assignment through us, we are legally required to retain your data for seven years.

Who do we share your data with?
If we are going to introduce you to a potential client, we will share your name, place of residence, CV and motivation. We will not introduce you without informing you. For some assignments, we work through an internal hiring agency, Managed Service Provider or broker. In these cases, we will provide some data to them. Again, this is not done without informing you.
Other
If you provide more information with your application than we have requested, this data will also be stored carefully. We assume that you voluntarily share this information with us and that you do not object to us processing it. Approximately four times a year, we send out a newsletter to our network of professionals and clients. At the bottom of each newsletter, you have the option to unsubscribe.
Placement
What data do we process and why?
If you undertake an interim assignment through us, we maintain an up-to-date file. We do this to comply with our ISO and Bovib certification requirements and because it is required by the Dutch Tax Authority. In addition to the information already processed during your application or registration, the following personal data and/or documents may be processed, depending on the client’s screening policy and the resulting screening requirements:
Self-employed contractors (ZZP)
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration extract
- VAT number
- Completed self-employment check
- Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG)
- Identity validation form
- A copy of the diploma of your highest completed education, and – if applicable – proof of registration in professional or industry registers, as well as any other diplomas or certificates relevant to the assignment.
Employees (secondment)

The personal data required for remuneration are not processed by us, but directly by our staffing partner.
How long do we keep your data?
If you are placed on an assignment through us, we are required by the Dutch Tax Authority to retain your data for seven years. This seven-year period starts on the date the assignment is completed.
Who do we share your data with?
In principle, this additional information is only used for our own records. However, due to our certifications, we are audited annually or semi-annually. As a result, it is possible that an auditor may review your file.
Other
If you provide us with more information than we request, this data will also be stored securely. We assume that you share this information with us voluntarily and that you do not object to us processing it. Clients
What data do we process and why?
To contact the contact person(s) at a client and for the digital signing of contract documents, we process the following data:
- Salutation
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Job title/function
Who do we share your data with?
We use this information only internally, and it is not shared with any third parties.
Other
We send a newsletter to our network of professionals and clients approximately four times a year. At the bottom of each newsletter, you have the option to unsubscribe.
Google Analytics
Through Google Analytics, anonymised data about the browsing behaviour of visitors to our website is collected. This allows us to see how visitors like you use the website. We use this information to make informed decisions about the layout and structure of our site, and to optimise its performance. To safeguard your privacy, we have taken the following measures:
To safeguard your privacy, we have taken several measures: we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google, we anonymise IP addresses, and we have disabled all options that allow data to be shared with Google. In addition, we do not use any other Google services in combination with Google Analytics cookies.
Other
We have concluded data processing agreements with all parties that process personal data on our behalf. This means that we have made clear arrangements about which data they process for us, how they process it and how this data is secured. As a result, your privacy is even better protected. If you would like more information about this, please feel free to contact us.
