Lack of clarity on hiring in healthcare
The number of self-employed workers in the healthcare sector has increased significantly in recent years, reaching 169,000 by 2022. At the same time, there are developments under way, from the DBA Act, to address ‘organisational embedding’, a development that directly affects the hiring of self-employed workers.
Will it soon still be possible to (continue to) hire healthcare professionals as freelancers, what risks are lurking, how will legislation and regulations be organised... These are legitimate questions that are already causing a lot of uncertainty and unrest within the healthcare sector, we have noticed. After all, it seems an impossible task to check every hired freelancer now for possible organisational embedding based on rules that are currently being developed.
To help healthcare organisations best prepare for the proposed changes and developments, we have developed the Hero Care months launched; a period in which we prepare organisations within healthcare for what is (potentially) to come. We share our knowledge regarding efficient and hassle-free hiring, inform about developments in organisational embedding and its specific implications for healthcare. Moreover, we initiate the conversation on the subject and provide a platform to share experiences.
Two key components of the Hero Care Months are:
- Compliance Quick Scan; Getting quick and immediate insight into hiring risks is what this quick scan is for. How compliant is your hiring?
- Round table knowledge session; a substantive event where knowledge is shared by and with peers. Together, we look at developments in healthcare from the perspective of strategic personnel planning. How do we deal with shortages in healthcare and how do changing legislation affect this?
From our experience and collaborations within healthcare and the expertise we have on hiring self-employed people, we prepare healthcare organisations for (market) developments and changing laws and regulations.
